TAURON Polska Energia has secured PLN 268.7 million (~USD 74.8 million) in financing from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) to develop 120 MW of photovoltaic capacity in southern Poland.

The loan was granted under Poland’s Krajowy Plan Odbudowy (KPO) and will support the construction of two solar farms located in Mysłowice and Ogrodzieniec, including all associated infrastructure. The agreement was formally signed at the Ministry of Climate and Environment as part of the Renewable Energy Sources Programme under KPO.
TAURON reported that its existing renewable energy portfolio currently stands at 649 MW, with additional projects under construction and new permits advancing throughout 2025. Alongside the solar financing, the company also signed an annex under the KPO Digitalisation Programme, increasing total loan support by an additional PLN 110 million (~USD 30.6 million).
According to BGK, the financing forms part of a broader KPO-backed investment framework aimed at accelerating renewable energy generation, grid modernisation, energy storage and transmission development across Poland, reinforcing the country’s long-term energy transition strategy.
