Global solar technology provider Nextpower has joined forces with Abunayyan Holding to establish a new joint venture aimed at strengthening Saudi Arabia’s solar supply chain. The partnership, operating under the name Nextpower Arabia, will develop a large-scale solar tracker manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 12 GW.

The new plant will be located in Jeddah and is expected to begin operations in Q2 2026. Built on a 42,000 m² site, the facility will manufacture solar tracking systems and control solutions designed for utility-scale photovoltaic projects across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
This investment supports Saudi Arabia’s broader clean-energy ambitions under Vision 2030, with a strong focus on local content, industrial diversification, and job creation. The JV plans to source key materials locally, including steel, while contributing to the development of domestic engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
From a market perspective, the project signals rising confidence in long-term solar deployment across the Kingdom. As Saudi Arabia accelerates large-scale renewable tenders, local manufacturing of critical components such as trackers is becoming increasingly strategic—both to reduce supply-chain risk and to meet localization requirements.
For Nextpower, the JV strengthens its footprint in a high-growth solar market, while Abunayyan Holding brings local industrial expertise and regional execution strength. Together, the partners aim to position Nextpower Arabia as a central supplier for upcoming gigawatt-scale solar projects in the region.
