IRSC signed PPA for 27 MW solar plant in Egypt

Egypt-based Integrated Renewable & Sustainable Communities (IRSC) has signed a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the development of a 27 MW solar power plant in Egypt, marking another milestone in the country’s industrial decarbonisation efforts.

Under the agreement, IRSC will finance, construct, own, and operate the solar facility, supplying clean electricity to El Nahda Industries Company under agreed commercial terms. The project will be fully executed by an IRSC subsidiary, which will manage engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), as well as long-term operation and maintenance (O&M).

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mohamed Shimi, underscoring the project’s alignment with Egypt’s broader renewable energy and industrial sustainability objectives.

Beyond domestic energy transition goals, the project also supports export-oriented industrial decarbonisation, helping El Nahda Industries comply with European carbon regulations, including requirements that increasingly affect exports to the European Union.

This agreement follows earlier developments by IRSC, including a separate 30-year PPA signed for a photovoltaic plant expansion in Egypt with ACC, highlighting the developer’s growing footprint in long-term corporate renewable energy supply.
