European Energy has reached a major milestone by exceeding 2.1 GW of grid-connected renewable energy capacity in Denmark, further strengthening the country’s position as a leader in the energy transition.

The portfolio spans onshore wind, utility-scale solar PV, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), reflecting a diversified approach to clean power generation and grid flexibility. The latest connections were completed toward the end of 2025, pushing the company’s cumulative Danish capacity above the 2 GW threshold.
This achievement represents more than 20% of Denmark’s total onshore renewable capacity, underlining European Energy’s strategic importance to the national power system. Since 2013, the company has developed and connected over 40 renewable projects across the country, steadily expanding both generation capacity and operational expertise.
Beyond scale, the integration of battery storage alongside solar and wind assets is a notable element of European Energy’s strategy. As Denmark’s power system incorporates higher shares of variable renewables, storage plays a critical role in balancing supply and demand, enhancing grid stability, and enabling more efficient use of clean electricity.
Looking ahead, European Energy is expected to continue investing in hybrid projects that combine generation and storage, supporting Denmark’s long-term decarbonisation targets while setting a benchmark for integrated renewable development in Europe.
