Malaysia has taken a significant step toward strengthening its power system and supporting higher renewable energy penetration, as Blueleaf Energy and Universal Peak have won a competitive bid to develop a 100-MW / 400-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) under the country’s inaugural utility-scale storage tender.

SolarMax has secured two engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts to deliver a combined 400 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Puerto Rico, reinforcing the island’s push toward grid resilience and energy security.

Spain has awarded more than €818 million ($956.3 million) in European Union funding to 126 energy storage projects totaling 2.2 GW of power and 9.4 GWh of capacity.
